Our pledge

At Danihers we are a passionate team that is committed to reducing our impact on the environment around us.

Actively looking for safer, healthier, more environmentally sustainable work practices that are hygienic and effective to achieve environmental benefits.

Our preferred suppliers must be committed to improving the environment. We regularly liaise with them to learn about new products or ranges that help us reach our commitment to sustainable work practices.

We aim to be the leader in our industry by reducing energy and water consumption at both our offices and work sites as well as working closely with clients and suppliers to reduce the amount of rubbish produced. We also ensure the waste is separated and recycled or disposed of quickly and appropriately. In addition to this, we supply all environmentally sustainable cleaning products and equipment at our client sites.

The TAKE2 initiative is a fantastic way that we can all contribute to a global goal.

    Our stories

In October 2016, Caroline Chisholm Catholic College (CCCC) signed up to the So-Eco Kick-Start Program,
supported by Danihers Facility Management; with the aim of developing a long term embedded sustainability
program across campus, curriculum, community and culture. To maintain this program and ensure its success, a whole school approach has been initiated, in particular:
o Endorsement and support at leadership level, in particular by the Principal, and Deputy Principal
o Appointment of a Sustainability Coordinator at each of the two sites, to lead the program
o The creation of a Sustainability Action Team consisting of staff and students to support the Sustainability
Coordinators with program development and implementation.

The Kick-Start Program will be completed at the end of May 2017 and will enable the school to benefit from the
    following outcomes:
    o Understanding current sustainability practices
o Identification of cost savings across waste
o Engagement with the program across the whole school community
o Development of student leadership opportunities
o Delivery of a platform for embedding a long term Sustainability Program

Findings and recommendations from the waste stream assessment will provide the school with a soild foundation and direction as they navigate their way to a 5 star school.
